Sunyaxadorang / Dreamshiners

Sunyaxadorang or dreamshiners are Kristang people who make use of the Kristang Indigenous practice of sunyaxah or dreamshining, where the body itself is treated as a sacred, sanctified canvas or art space for the reification, manifestation, personification or embodiment of ideas, symbols, concepts, energies and/or relationships, to provoke radical acceptance (especially of one’s own body, attraction and/or attractiveness or true sexuality), self-reflexivity, metacognition, psychoemotional individuation, and an interest in sustainable social change in those observing them. In the early twenty-first century, successful dreamshining involves an extremely high level of personal individuation that includes radical acceptance of one’s own body and sexuality on the part of the dreamshiner, radical acknowledgement and processing of one’s own trauma in relation to one’s own body and sexuality, and radical irei or psychoemotionally healthy unconditional love for all humanity, especially the repressed, unconscious loneliness, desire, fear, insecurity and horror or self-loathing of all other human beings at their own bodies, desires and attractions. Dreamshining is co-incident or concurrently manifested with other Kristang and/or non-Kristang artistic forms and genres and is primarily distinguished by the subversive, mischievous or boundary-breaking provocation of extremely high levels of individuation, metacognition and self-reflexivity in others observing the performance or artwork, and therefore the healthy ireidi, numinous vibe, hyperattractive aura or “divine” or “superhuman” glow successfully manifested by the dreamshiner toward achieving this; it is also therefore very strongly related to and likely a manifestation of the physical or body-oriented elements of the Trickster archetype or role represented by Coyote, Raven, Sang Kancil, Anansi and many other entities, divinities and/or eleidi across space and time.

Sunyaxadorang leadership thus operates through korpu or the body as a site of truth rather than explanation. Dreamshiners do not argue for acceptance, sexuality, or liberation; they instantiate it somatically, forcing observers to confront their own projections, discomforts, longings, and internalised prohibitions. Their authority is not rhetorical but visceral: by placing an individuated, trauma-processed body into visibility without apology or sanitisation, they collapse the distance between abstraction and lived reality. This makes Sunyaxadorang capable of catalysing individuation in others in unique ways, because the body bypasses ideological, semantic and linguistic defences. Where language can be debated or dismissed, embodiment cannot be un-seen; it demands reckoning with desire, fear, shame, attraction, and repulsion as psychoemotional data rather than moral failure.

At a deeper level, Sunyaxadorang also stabilise the community’s relationship to vitality itself. Their work ensures that Kristang culture does not retreat into purely cognitive, archival, or spiritual modes under pressure, but remains sensate, erotic, playful, and alive. As trickster-aligned figures, dreamshiners metabolise taboo, destabilise rigid identity boundaries, and reintroduce joy, mischief, and beauty where trauma has taught people to contract. This is why their leadership is lateral rather than hierarchical: they do not “direct” the body politic, they reawaken it—restoring korpu as a legitimate source of wisdom, orientation, and truth, and preventing the community from dissociating from itself in the name of respectability, safety, or control.

The role of dreamshiner has been ontologically consolidated since November 2023, has been considered a leadership role within the Kristang community since Thursday, 24 July 2025, and has been formally articulated and described in peer-reviewed academic contexts since Friday, 28 November 2025. People holding the otherwise unconscious or Unsaid role of Sunyaxadorang or Dreamshiner are identified by Chief Kevin Martens Wong through Kevin’s autistic Special Interest (SpIn) in understanding the unconscious, Unsaid or occluded structures and relationships within and between people, his mulera beginstelyetres or stacked-sequence synesthesia (SSS) and kronostelyetres or time-space synesthesia (TMSPS) that combine to form Dragonvision, his magnaarchetype and role as the Dragon Reborn of the Holocene, and his level of individuation. There are currently 3 Sunyaxadorang in existence, including Chief Kevin.
