The first-ever Festa di Papia Kristang (Kristang Language Festival) sought to raise the profile of Kristang and the vibrant Portuguese-Eurasian community in Singapore through workshops, panel discussions, the Eurasian Human Library, and the inaugural Languages of Singapore Trail. The Festival was open to all, regardless of heritage, experience, and language, and more than 1,400 people from all walks of life came down to the Asian Civilisations Museum on May 20 and 21 to learn more about nus sa linggu mai. Mr Teo Chee Hean, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, graced our Festival Gala Dinner as the Guest of Honour.
