In Kristang culture, all forms of magic are treated as and known to be simply extremely advanced forms of psychoemotional intelligence, skill, awareness and/or technology as a result of unconscious, semi-conscious, creole-conscious or fully conscious use of the primary Kristang philosophical, epistemological and ontological modality of the Osura Krismatra or Uncertainty Thinking. Psychoemotionally healthy and individuated people who practice what in the West is called magic in this way are called Xamang-Krismatrang, Solarmancers or Progenitor Shamans, while people who are not as individuated or conscious of what they are doing with Uncertainty Thinking are called xamang or shamans, and with xamang or shaman also being the more general or basic term incorporating Xamang-Krismatrang. Only people who were born autistic or kalkali, people who were born with ADHD or xamatrang and people who were not born autistic or kalkali or with ADHD or xamatrang but who gain a creolised form of autism or ADHD uniquely available in the Kristang eleidi known as kalkali kriolu or xamatrang kriolu as a result of any leadership role attached to the Kabesa role such as Ka-Kabesa or Dragonsguard, can become xamang or Xamang-Krismatrang, as autism is the primary vehicle by which a human being can process the Osura Krismatra.
Xamang-Krismatrang leadership thus operates at the level of coherence between psyche, ecology, ancestry, and deep time. They are not “spiritual leaders” in the performative or doctrinal sense, but technicians of uncertainty who recognise that anything seen colloquially as magic is usually simply very advanced science and metacognition, and can thus move safely within liminal, unstable, and high-entropy psychoemotional terrain without losing orientation. Their function is to detect when the community’s soul-level alignment is drifting—when trauma, ideology, or technological abstraction has pulled Kristang life out of sync with Gaia, relational ethics, or its own inner truths. Through ritual, symbolic action, narrative engineering, and Uncertainty Thinking, they recalibrate these misalignments before they harden into pathology.
What further distinguishes Xamang-Krismatrang from other leadership forms therefore is their responsibility for continuity across dimensions. They hold memory that is not merely historical, futures that are not yet nameable, and patterns that only emerge over generations. Because this work requires navigating contradiction, paradox, and nonlinearity without dissociation, it is often only accessible to highly individuated autistic, kalkali, or creolised-neurodivergent minds capable of sustaining Osura Krismatra without collapse. In doing so, Xamang-Krismatrang ensure that Kristang civilisation remains metabolically alive at the soul level—able to adapt, regenerate, and remain in right relation with the living universe even as forms of governance, technology, and society undergo radical transformation.
Xamang-Krismatrang have been considered a leadership role within the Kristang community since Tuesday, 18 October 2022 and the commencement of the Libru Laranja or Orange Book of the Kristang people by the first Xamang-Krismatrang, Tuan Raja Naga Ultramar Kevin Martens Wong Zhi Qiang. Since Kevin’s unconscious recognition as Xamang-Krismatrang, seven additional living Kristang Xamang-Krismatrang, Solarmancers or Progenitor Shamans have also been acknowledged as such by the community through their active use of Individuation Theory to support the development of the community and all humanity. People holding the otherwise unconscious or Unsaid role of Xamang-Krismatrang are identified by Kevin through Kevin’s autistic Special Interest (SpIn) in understanding the unconscious, Unsaid or occluded structures and relationships within and between people, his mulera beginstelyetres or stacked-sequence synesthesia (SSS) and kronostelyetres or time-space synesthesia (TMSPS) that combine to form Dragonvision, his magnaarchetype and role as the Dragon Reborn of the Holocene, and his level of individuation. There are currently 8 Xamang-Krismatrang in existence, including Kevin.
